Lost in His Kiss

Sigh…. It never gets old or common place.. that kiss…. when his lips touch mine I find myself lost in his kiss. You know how in those romantic movies the camera slows to focus on the couple locked in a magical kiss.. the camera zooms in on their faces and slowly encircles them as the background becomes fuzzy and fades away …. as if the world around them has completely disappeared… well that’s exactly how I feel every time my husband’s lips touch mine.
No matter what else in the world is going on … my worries and my stress lessen and I am lost in the magic of a single kiss. Moments I treasure … moments that stay with me long after they are gone.
Take time in your life to treasure those moments… a kiss, a warm embrace, a glance in your direction, a smile, a touch … time passes so quickly and our lives are filled with things to be done.. don’t let these small but priceless treasures get lost in the busy… busy .. hustle of  day to day living.
When those moments come … take in the moment and relish it … allow yourself to truly be in that moment and not elsewhere.

Allow Yourself

With life being ….. well LIFE .. we often find ourselves shutting things out. Lots of things… in fact far more than we realize. You can’t live a life closed off from life’s experiences. You have to allow yourself to FEEL … to LOVE … to CREATE … to LIVE!

Allow healing…. Allow laughter…. Allow sorrow… Allow pain… Allow love… Allow appreciation….. Allow yourself all things from all experiences.

Just like that great quote: To know great happiness you must first experience great sorrow.

It’s true… How would we know happiness if we didn’t understand and know the depths of pain and sorrow?

We get hurt and we put up a wall… we fail and we put up another wall… we become unhappy and we put up even more walls.. sooner or later we are just surrounded by walls and we are not only keeping the bad things out but we aren’t letting the good things in either. So we doom ourselves to carry on living without experiencing.

If I had put up a wall every time I got hurt or failed at something … OMG .. I would be a hermit living in a vast forest with no contact with the world at all. I’d be so sad and alone.. and I would have died in the same way … very sad and very alone..

I can’t imagine missing the first kiss between me and my husband … I would have if I had put up walls from past hurts.

Not meeting my bestest friend in all the world, Pattie.. would have also been missed if I had of put up walls and closed myself off to new friendships because of past friendships gone wrong.

If I had closed myself off to the world.. I don’t think I could paint or create a thing … for what experiences would I be able to draw from expect from pain and solitude?

My message today: Don’t be afraid to fall down… getting up and giving it your all is well worth a bit of scrapes and bruises in the long run.

When?

When will you be happy?

Do you ever hear yourself saying things like….

I’ll be happy when I get a new car

I’ll be happy when I loose weight

I’ll be happy when I find love

I’ll be happy when I own my own home

I’ll be happy when I find a better job

I’ll be happy when …..

How about being happy right here .. right now?

I’m not in any way suggesting that you settle … but what I am saying is that why wait to be happy .. we can be happy right here and right now while we walk toward our goals.. no need to wait til those goals are met.. because I dare say .. if you aren’t happy walking toward those goals.. what makes you think meeting that goal will magically change your mindset and make you happy right then at the very moment that goal is met.

Happiness begins when you allow yourself to be so.

Choose right here .. right now for that moment to begin!

Smile and love with your whole heart and watch what happens

Are You Happy Now?

Are you Happy Now?

When asked this question, what comes to mind?

Are your first thoughts, those of well no.. I need to lose more weight, I want to get my teeth whitened, I need to make more money, I want to be loved more, I want more success, a bigger house, a newer car… etc.?

OR

Do your thoughts go toward all that you have in life and all the possibilities that await?

Happiness comes when YOU allow yourself to be so. Happiness doesn’t come from material things so having a bigger house, better job or whatever it is you “desire” in the material world won't mean that you'll be happy.

Take this time now to think about all the things that have made you laugh or smile.. I bet most of those things have nothing at all to do with material possessions… and more so on acts of kindness, friendship, family bonding, and basic human interaction. Maybe it was a child's laughter, or finding your very first 4 leaf clover, or watching the sunset or rise…. Maybe it was a kiss or a look... Maybe it was the look on someone's face when they had lost the plot… maybe it was your child’s first steps… whatever it was … I can almost guarantee it had nothing at all to do with something you “thought” you wanted or needed.. instead it was something that just came to you freely and without some supermarket price tag.

I’m not saying that life isn’t hard and that there are no tragedies …. I’m simply saying to take a moment and appreciate all the little things in life that bring you unexpected joy.. take a moment to appreciate those around you … tell those close to you that you love them and appreciate them. Hug a whole lot more and complain a whole lot less.

Take today to appreciate the fact that if nothing else in this world you still have life … and if you still have life you have dreams, hope and possibilities.

True happiness comes not from outside joys but those that touch your heart and make you smile…. From the inside out!
